Jamie Durrett is a native of Clarksville. She graduated from Montgomery Central High School the stayed in Clarksville to attend Austin Peay State University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Sciences in Languages in Literature in 2004.  During her time at Austin Peay, Jamie was a charter member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority chapter on campus.

After graduation, Jamie moved to Birmingham, Alabama to pursue her law degree at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law.  While at Cumberland, Jamie served as a member of the Internal Relations Committee of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, was a Judge Abraham Caruthers Legal Research and Writing Teaching Fellow, and was a member of Cumberland’s Trial Advocacy Board. She also served as a law student clerk to the Honorable District Court Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins of the Middle District of Alabama. After being named to the Dean’s List in all six of her semesters at Cumberland, Jamie graduated with her law degree in 2007.

After obtaining her law degree, Jamie remained in BirmingJKD 2015 ASLAham practicing law primarily in the areas of Corporate Law, insurance defense, and Medicare compliance.  In May 2010, Jamie returned home to Clarksville to practice at Batson Nolan PLC.  Currently, Jamie practices primarily in the firm’s Civil Litigation Group, focusing especially on Medical Malpractice and Insurance Defense. She was selected by the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Litigation lawyers in the State of Tennessee for 2014 and 2015.  Jamie was also selected for the Continental Who’s Who in 2015.

Outside of the firm, Jamie is very active in the local community and the local bar association.  Jamie is a member of the Montgomery County (Tennessee) Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Association and is the Delegate of the 19th Judicial District to the Tennessee Bar Association House of Delegates.  She is also the TBA Young Lawyers’ Division District 10 Representative.  She has served as an advisor for the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority at Austin Peay and is the past President of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Middle Tennessee Alumnae Association.  Jamie is currently the District Facilitator for Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority District 6. Jamie is a past Guild Member of the Customs House Museum and served as President for two years as well as holding the positions of Flying High Auction Chair (2013), Flying High Co-Chair (2014) and Flying High Chair (2015).  She is also a 2015 graduate of Leadership Clarksville.
